OTTAWA ETHNIC MEDIA FORUM (OEMF)

The OEMF was founded in 2008 by mainly one person, supported by a handful of local community newspapers, and radio and TV ethnic journalists. We came together to form an organization that represents the interests of the ethnic media in Ottawa. We hope in the year 2022 to accomplish a few media events, conferences, and workshops that were set for prior to COVID.

We hope to align ourselves more efficiently with the Canadian Ethnic Media Association (CEMA), and The Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ). The purpose of OEMF is to bridge the gap between mainstream and ethnic media, and to expose and promote different cultures by holding workshops, meet-and-greets, and hosting speakers to share their knowledge and experience, and learn collectively from them.
